Large Submariner's Metal Wall Plaque, 1' Region Maritime named to ADMIRAL SIR WILFRID WOODS, GBE, KCB, DSO. CHERBOURG LE 5 JUILLET 1965, with 2 photographs in uniform (copies).

Born 1906 at Southsea.
1926 commissioned.
1927 Commanded the Seahorse.
1939-45 entered into Submarine service, promoted Commander.
1940 commanded Triumph awarded DSO and Bar, Order of the White Eagle
1944 scuttled HMS Centurion to aid Mulberry Harbour during the Normandy Landings.
1947 Chief Staff Officer.
1954 promoted to Commodore.
1955 promoted to Rear Admiral.
1957 awarded CB.
1958 to Vice Admiral.
1960 NATO Commander in Chief rank of Admiral. KCB
1962 Aide-de-Campe to the Queen.
1963 GBE.
1965 Deputy Lieutenant for Hampshire and for four years chairman of the RNLI.
1975 dies in Bournemouth.
