Price: £795.00

A WW1 Military Medal group awarded to 2226 (later 330474), Private Fergus Roseweir, who served with the 9th (Glasgow Highlanders) Battalion (Territorial Force) Highland Light Infantry.

Roseweir joined up on the 10th August 1914, and moved with his unit to France on the 5th November 1914. His Medal Index Card which can be viewed by clicking on here (if you have access to Ancestry, although a paper copy can be provided) confirms the date he entered France, but it appears that he was not awarded a 'Mons Bar' to his 1914 Star.

He was awarded his Military Medal for an action undertaken in 1916 (probably at the battle of Loos or at the Somme), his London Gazette entry can be viewed by clicking on here, the medal index card relating to his Military Medal can be viewed by clicking on here, If you have access to 'find my past' (although a paper copy can be provided).

The Battalion was apart of the Lowland Division, which took part in the battles of Loos, The Somme and the 3rd Battle of Ypres. Further details regarding actions and activity of the battalion can be viewed by clicking on here.

I have not been able to locate and further details regarding this man, but he did survive the war and was discharge after hostilities ended.

The details of his awards are as follows:

Military Medal named to 2226 PTE F. ROSEWEIR. 9/HIGH: L.I. - T.F.

1914 Star named to 2226 PTE F. ROSEWEIR. 9/HIGH: L.I.

British War Medal and Victory Medal named to 2226 PTE. F. ROSEWEIR. H.L.I.

Un-named Medal/Medallion.

The medals are supplied loose with replacement ribbons. Included with this listing are a number of documents that relate to Roseweir's military service as well as a 'medal bar' showing all four of his awards.

Price £795 - please read the terms and conditions below.
