A WW2 MBE medal group with citation, awarded to Lieutenant William Stiles-Bryan, Royal Engineers, for action taken under fire leading his platoon to protect the Waal River crossing at Nijimegan in November 1944. His London Gazette entry can be viewed by clicking on here. He was serving with the 90th Field Company Royal Engineers, who started the campaign in France and Germany landing at Gold Beach in Normandy as a part of the 8th GHQ.

Stiles-Bryan worked as a civil servant when he left the forces and passed away in October 2002, his death was noted in the London Gazette, which can be viewed by clicking on here.

MBE Military Division with original box of issue, unnamed as issued.

1939-45 Star unnamed as issued.

Africa Star unnamed as issued.

Italy Star unnamed as issued.

France & Germany Star unnamed as issued.

British War Medal unnamed as issued.

The medals are in excellent condition having never been worn and come with the original ribbons, wax packets and in their original box of issue along with a matching set of swing mounted contemporary miniature medals.

Also included is a copy of the citation that was submitted that led to Stiles-Bryan being awarded the MBE which notes that he was attached to the 90th Field Company, Royal Engineers.
