Indian Mutiny 1857 Medal clasp Delhi named as follows
ENSIGN`T' W. WILSON. 1ST BN. 60TH RIFLES
Note Ensign and W. engraved, small T at end of Ensign officially impressed as remainder of naming.
2967 Schoolmaster Sergeant William Cumming Wilson is confirmed on the roll and is the Only Wilson that would have the small T of Sergeant in the name details, this is confirmed by research.
William was promoted to Sergeant Major vide British Army worldwide Index of 1861.
He obviously did not want his medal to show his original rank and had the rank and initial re-engraved.
