John a native of Huddersfield served in the Local Ammunition Column, Royal Field Artillery he sadly lost his life on 29.10.1900 at Cape Town, he is commemorated on the Memorial, the Mall, London and the Duncombe Place Memorial York. Lived at Waltons Yard, Newtown, Huddersfield.
