India General Service Medal 1854 clasp Burma 1885-7, (T. CARR. SIG.2 CL. H.M.S. BACCHANTE.).
Born 1862 in Preston.
1879 Joins the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class, Impregnable then to Ganges
1880 to Curacao.
1881 Becomes Signaller 3rd Class.
1882 Promoted to Signaller 2nd Class.
1883 Posted to Thalia then to Royal Adelaide then Duke of Wellington finally posted to Asia.
1885 Returns to the Duke of Wellington and onto the Bacchante. Qualifies as a Signaller.
1886 To Woodlark, imprisoned for 90 days in Byculla jail, reduced to Trained Man.
1887 to Royal Adelaide, Duke of Wellington, Thalia finally to Imogene.
1888 to Hibernia then to Alexandria qualifying as a Signaller again.
1889 Sentenced to 18 months hard labour for drunkenness and insubordination sent to Lewes jail.
1890 returns to duty at Wildfire and sentenced to a further 27 days hard labour, reduced to Trained Man.
1891Ten days in cells, followed by 27 days at Canterbury Jail, upon returning to duty he is discharged to shore having completed his continuous service.
