Captain Shirley Eric Douglas Cline Wounded in action in the head and neck by an exploding gas shell 19.9.1918, admitted to No. 2 Red Cross Hospital at Rouen 20.9.1918, transferred to Bathurst House Auxillary Hospital, London being discharged 31.12.1918 and eventaully from the Army 12.7.1919.
Had previously served prior to WW1 in the Naini Tal & 1st Punjab Volunteers and the Rangoon Volunteer Rifles. After enlisting inthe Scottish Rifles he was Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the 9th Battalion the Bedfordshire Regiment, having attained the rank of Captain he eventually relinquished his commission 6.11.1920.
Served in the Indian Army as a Lieutenant during WW2.
