R.N.), Defence Medal, Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Gv, (203157 (PO. B. 2092) W.C. COLE. L.S. R.F.R.), National Fire Brigades Association Long Service Medal, silver with 5 and 25 Year clasps, (4081 WILLIAM C. COLE.), National Fire Brigades Association Long Service Medal in bronze with 5 and 10 Year clasps, (8715 WILLIAM C. COLE.).

1885 Born Chiswick.
1899 Joins the Royal Navy as a Boy, to Lion as Boy 2nd Class.
1901 becomes Ordinary Seaman on Resolution, then to Formidable.
1902 Promoted to Able Seaman.
1905 to Canopus as a Qualified Gunner.
1907 Purchases his discharge and joins the Royal Fleet Reserve.
1908 Enrols into the Fire Brigades Association at Brentford.
1914 Still at Brentford he is recalled to Service from the RFR. Posted to Europa.
1915 Promoted to Leading Seaman, to Amethyst, to Egmont.
1916 to Cudwosin.
1917 Whilst in the Mediterranean Cudwosin sights a German Submarine only 20 yards away and fires at her a few times and drops a depth charge on top of the submarine., reportedly sinking it. Payment of £300 for this awarded to the Crew.
1918 D.S.M. awarded for the incident. Demobbed from service.
1922 receives his RFR LSGC medal.
1927 Receives his Bronze FBA medal and clasps.
1930 Receives his Silver FBA medal.
1935 Receives 5 Year clasp.
1939-45 Earns the Defence Medal as a Fireman.
1954 dies in Weymouth.
