James who lived at 4 Selby Street, Ardwick, Manchester was Killed in Action with the 20th Liverpool Regiment on 19.3.1917 soldiers died shows 29.2.1917. He had previously served in the 8th Manchester Regiment then as 6451 8th Irish Battalion, The Liverpool Regiment and finally as 49590 20th 4th City Pals Battalion The Liverpool Regiment. He is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
Born, Lived and Enlisted Manchester.
He first served in Egypt and is entitled to the 1914-15 Star Trio.
