A single Victory Medal awarded to 47633 Rifleman William James Carter, 2nd Bn. The Royal Irish Rifles, Killed in Action 24th March 1918, aged 25. Son of C.F.W. & Mary Ann Carter of Shirburn Street, Watlington, Oxon, Brother of Ernest Johnson Carter (BWM listed on line).
William formerly served in the Army Service Corps and his medal is named S4-094879 PTE. W.J. CARTER. A.S.C. paperwork included confirms.
