(1902-1955).

1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Africa Star bar North Africa 1942-43, 1939-45 War Medal with Mention in Despatches Emblem, Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Gvi, (MX. 47468 H. WALTERS. E.A.1. H.M.S. PEMBROKE.), with Original Documents, Photographs, related Diary etc.

1902 born in Bradley, Bilston Staffordshire.
1928 enlisted as an Electrical Artificer.
1930 to HMS Nelson
1934 to HMS Walpole where he kept a diary up to 1937.
1935 to Firedrake.
1936 to HMS Cumberland.
1939 Battle of the River Plate.
1940 Cumberland sinks the Vichy munitions ship Poitiers then on to Dakar. Received a direct hit from the Vichy shore batteries. All power was lost and amid dead and wounded Horace managed to restore power to the ship, for this action he was Mentioned in Despatches. London Gazette entry 23 January 1941.
1941 on Arctic Convoy escort duties.
1943 leaves the Cumberland and receives his L.S.G.C. He then serves on various stations until his discharge in 1950 as Chief Electrical Artificer being medically unfit for further service.
1955 dies in Rochester.
