(1892-1929).

1914-15 Star, (S. 1-199. E.C. MILLS. SIG. R.N.V.R.), British War Medal, Victory Medal,(S. 1-199. E.C. MILLS. L. SIG. R.N.V.R.), Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Gv, (1/199. E.C. MILLS.LDG. SIG. R.N.V.R. SUSSEX DIVN.).

Born Steyning 1892.
1909 joins Sussex Division R.N.V.R. as a Bugler.
1910 rated as Ordinary Seaman.
1912 rated as a Signaller.
1914 posted to Lyons.
1915 to Q6, Zylpha.
1917 attack a U Boat and receive prize money. Attacked by U82, takes a hit and later abandons ship, she sinks later that night. Ernest is posted to Hyderabad, the first purpose built Q ship.
1919 demobilised to shore.
1929 dies after operation in the Royal West Sussex Hospital.
