(1923-2016).

1939-45 Star, Africa Star bar North Africa 1942-43, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, 1939-45 War Medal, Box and Medal Slip from Admiraly. Copy photos.

Born 1923 Chorlton district, son of the Author Robert Howard.
1940/41 Michael enrols as a Cadet in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.
1943 appointed Midshipman, RNVR, to the Circassia. Invasion of Scicily where he was on duty on the beaches. Posted to HMS Quantock. Advanced to Sub-Lieutenant.
1944 receives wound to his cheek Bombardment of Lussinpiccolo, enemy torpedo boat base.
1946 released from service and returns to his education at Exeter College, Oxford and becomes a Teacher.
2016 Michael dies at Dorking.
