A WW1 casualty medal group awarded to 13416 Private Leslie George Kiddell, who served with the 1st Battalion (Royal) Norfolk Regiment. The Norfolk Regiment formed part of 15th Brigade, 5th Division which saw action in France with the BEF from the outset of the war from August 1914.

According to Kiddell’s Medal Index Card, which can be viewed by clicking on here (if you have access to Ancestry, although a paper copy will be provided with this listing), he joined the regiment in France on 25th March 1915. His battalion would fight in all four Battles of Ypres.

Kiddell he was killed in action only a short while after the end of the 2nd Battle of Ypres on the 4th June 1916. His Commonwealth War Graves Commission entry can be viewed by clicking on here. He has no known grave and is remembered on the Arras Memorial - although the Battle of Arras took place after his death.

I have not been able to locate any service records related to this man.
