The history of the Northumberland Fusiliers can be viewed by clicking on here. The 1st Battalion served in India from 1905-1913 and were engaged in operations on the North West Frontier between the14th February and the 31st May 1908. Jackson later served with this unit in WW1.

Jackson later served in WW1, and also earned a 1914 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal, his Medal Index Card for these awards can be viewed by clicking on here (again is you have access to Ancestry), a paper copy of this MIC is not included with this listing - but this does make this a great research opportunity. I have not been able to locate any service records for this man.
