A WW1 casualty medal group awarded to G-21421 Private Herbert Thomas Mott, who served originally with the 2nd, 11th and finally with the 7th Battalion The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment.

Motts Medal Index Card, which can be viewed by clicking on here (if you have access to Ancestry, although a paper copy will be provided with this listing), gives no reference to a date when he arrived in France, but his Commonwealth War Graves Commission entry which can be viewed by clicking on here he was killed in action on the 10th August 1917.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial which is one of four memorials to the missing in Belgian Flanders, which cover the area known as the Ypres Salient.

The actions and activity of his regiment can be viewed by clicking on here.
