A WW1 medal group awarded to 1.A.M George Joseph Parry who served initially with the army but later transferred to the RAF. According to his service records which can be viewed by clicking on here, (if you have a subscription to ‘find my past’), Parry (who was born in 1895), enlisted into the army in October 1915 and later served as an aircraft mechanic with 66 Squadron.

He served in France from March 1916 until February 1919. 66 Squadron was a fighter squadron, whose history can be viewed by clicking on here.

The details of his awards are as follows:

British War Medal and Victory Medal named to 11131. 1.A.M. G. J. PARRY. R. A. F.

The medals are loose and supplied with their original boxes (which contains Parry’s details) and replacement ribbons
