FURTHER DETAILS:

I have not been able to trace any service records related to this man, but reviewing Cooks service number, he will have enlisted between 1903 and 1906. His Medal Index Card does reference that he was discharged in August 1915.

The Queen’s Bays were a part of the 1st Cavalry Brigade, Cavalry Division which was renamed as the 1st Cavalry Division on the 16th September 1914. The regiment served with this Brigade and Division for the duration of the war.
