A WW1 medal group awarded to 69292, Driver Rowland Drewitt, who served with the Royal Field Artillery.

According to Drewitt’s Medal Index Card which can be viewed by clicking on here, (if you have access to Ancestry, although a paper copy will be provided with this listing), he arrived in France on 30/7/15.

The details of his awards are as follows:

1914-15 Star named to 69292, DVR R DREWITT, RFA

British War Medal and Victory Medal named to 69292 DVR. R. DREWITT. R.A.

The medals a loose and come with their original ribbons along with a matching set of contemporary miniature medals, also included is the original ‘Certificate Of Employment During The War’, noting many details .

Sadly, neither of these provide any indication as to which unit he served in and I have been unable to locate any service records relating to this man.

However, the aforementioned record of service notes that he enlisted in February 1915 and served with 285th Brigade and left the service in June 1919.

His peacetime occupation was that of a dairyman.
