A 1914 Mons Star with clasp awarded to L-15473 (later 6450335), Private (later Corporal) George Faulks, who served with the 1st Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment).

Faulks arrived in France on 07/09/14, the Medal Index Card and the medal roll confirming the clasp can be viewed by clicking on here and on here, (if you have access to Ancestry), although a paper copy of the MIC will be provided with this listing.

I have not been able to locate any service records relating to this man.

FURTHER DETAILS:

The 1st Battalion landed at Saint-Nazaire as part of the 17th Brigade in the 6th Division in September 1914 for service on the Western Front. They were involved in many major engagements including the Battle of the Somme in autumn 1916 and the Battle of Passchendaele in autumn 1917.
