Territorial Force War Medal named to 362005 BQMS, T. MADDEN. R.A.
FURTHER DETAILS:
Neither Madden’s Medal Index Card or medal roll entries, which can be viewed by clicking on here, on here and on here, (if you have access to Ancestry), although a paper copy of the MIC will be provided with this listing, give any indication as to which theatre of war he served in.
He was entitled to a Silver War Badge (details of which can be viewed by clicking on here, again if you have access to Ancestry), which notes that he enlisted in April 1908 and was discharged in August 1918.
The same records also state that he was serving with the ‘Lancashire and Cheshire Royal Garrison Artillery’, his ‘new service number’ also falls into the bracket of those allocated to the Lancashire & Cheshire Fortress RGA - a full history of which can be viewed by clicking on here.
In regards to Madden himself, I have been unable to locate any other service records relating to this man, however, his entire life history has been fully mapped out on Ancestry and can be viewed by clicking on here.
