A WW1 Scots Guards trio named to Edward Henry Black, who according to his Medal Index Card entered France on December 28, 1914. He was also entitled to a Silver War Badge (No 1891). From the dates on his service papers, it looks like he was wounded at the first battle of Ypres.

His medals are:

1914-15 Star named to 9641, PTE E.H. BLACK.

British War Medal & Victory Medal named to 9641, PTE E.H. BLACK.

The medals are loose with remnants of their original ribbons

Also included are WW2 medals awarded to Mr P. BLACK. These include:

British War Medal - all unnamed as issued.

The medals are loose but come in the original box of issue (from the Royal Army Ordnance Corps) with original ribbons and wax packets.

The address on the box is 30 Rose Lea Terrace, Lady Bank, Fife (just north of Kirkcaldy).

Some additional details can be found here, and his short service papers can be found here (if you have access to ‘Find My Past’). He attested in August 1914 at Dundee at age 24, (previously a Gas Worker) and was discharged in February 1916 ‘no longer physically fit’ after being shot in the chest.

He was born in 1890, the son of James and Mary Jane Black. He was married to Beatrice (nee Cuthill) and lived at 1 Craigie Street, Dundee.

I have no FURTHER DETAILS: on Mr P. Black, and I do not know what the relationship is between the two.
